About Artist:
Sam Kobee, a self-taught artist talented in abstract coastal paintings, was raised near the coastline, Adabraka in Accra. He was inspired by his family and specifically his elder brother to pursue Art as a career. Although he had only studied various science subjects in education, during his studies, he was wildly commended for his steady hands and good handwriting. The Art department in his school had selected several wells praised pieces of his for an art exhibition. Glen Turner, a talented artist in his own right, had noticed Kobee marketing his designs on his shirt and connected deeply with him as an artist to artist.
In this viewing room, we have a display of Kobee’s pieces, the dramatic portrayals of colour that turn the viewer’s eye to the studied details of the painting providing a mystical escape from reality.

Kofi Nduro was born on January 14th 1964 in Tarkwa, Ghana. He was a student at Ghanatta College of Art and Design. Nduro defines himself as a traditionalist deep in the mythology of African art. Womanhood, landscapes and symbols are embedded in the themes he explores. He developed his style after 16 years of an internal identity search within the art world. This soul search can be witnessed within his pieces through a combination of brush, knife and fingers on virgin canvas as he works with a medium.
