    About Artist:  Jonathan K Aggrey, the leading watercolour artist in Africa, was born and raised in Tema, Accra. He graduated with a degree in Art Education (Bachelor of Arts) at the University of Education, Winneba, Ghana. His art pieces are timeless snapshots of the culture, the people and the coastlines of Ghana. They capture a very historic and vibrant part of Ghana. Aggrey uses the wet-in-wet technique and gradually incorporates the forms and finishes of the work and ending it with dry brush strokes to enhance the character of the painting. He maintains the freshness and wispy aesthetic of the paintings by keeping the background exciting, capturing the viewer’s eye and leading it to the painting activities. Aggrey has had the privilege of exhibiting in group and solo exhibitions in several countries including Ghana, Turkey, Romania, China, Thailand, Colombia, Nigeria, Italy, France, Norway, Korea and Russia. He has also appeared in several major international catalogues and publications around the world. His collectors include Qingdao Art Museum, China and numerous art collectors around the world. He was inspired by his family and specifically his elder brother to pursue Art as a career. Although he had only studied various science subjects in education, during his studies, he was wildly commended for his steady hands and good handwriting. The Art department in his school had selected several wells praised pieces of his for an art exhibition. Glen Turner, a talented artist in his own right, had noticed Kobee marketing his designs on his shirt and connected deeply with him as an artist to artist. In this viewing room, we have a display of Kobee’s pieces, the dramatic portrayals of colour that turn the viewer’s eye to the studied details of the painting providing a mystical escape from reality.
